For school, we had to complete a PWS in our final year of high school. This is a large research project where Jesper Kas, Ties Kramer, and I answered the research question, 'In what way can a house behind a dike in the Netherlands be designed so that it remains habitable after a dike breach?' I found it an interesting study and enjoyed designing our final house.

The Netherlands is becoming increasingly crowded, and there are no more safe places to build houses. You can build houses behind a dike, but that’s obviously not very safe. With the rising sea levels, the risk of a dike breach, especially in the Netherlands, is even greater. That’s why, for our PWS, we designed a house that remains habitable even after a dike breach.
