At the new mini-festival BLOOM, you’ll discover fresh new music, glam yourself up at glam yourself, and take part in creative workshops. In between, you can explore Neushoorn, play interactive music bingo, or win cool prizes at the games. Young local artists will showcase their latest work, from slick rap flows and heavy rock to banging DJ sets. All the snacks, activities, and the video and photo booths are fully organized by peers your age. And the best part: everything is free. including delicious snacks with a Middle Eastern twist and goodie bags to take home.
I signed up for an MDT internship/volunteering project. I had some extra time during this period, and it seemed like a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of event organization.
During this time, I worked with a lot of joy and energy on our event: BLOOM—a mini festival with music, food, and all kinds of fun activities, organized by young people.

I organized an interactive activity for BLOOM where participants could create their own video about going on vacation without knowing the destination beforehand. They experienced the full journey, from the airport and airplane to arriving at a surprise location. At the destination, they could dress up with themed accessories and dance to matching music. Unfortunately, it turns out it was all just a dream, they weren’t actually on vacation. However, they could still receive the video as a memory of the experience.
I really enjoyed organizing this activity. I worked together with someone who had extensive knowledge of green screens and video production, which allowed me to learn a lot in a short amount of time. I’m proud of what we were able to create together in such a limited timeframe.
